On-the-job training We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and experience working in a small animal general practice.
The Veterinary Technician will be qualified to perform all aspects of providing medical care to pets within a general practice setting.
Including assisting veterinarians in examinations, surgeries and treatments, performing laboratory tests, and educating clients on animal health.
The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, be self directed, collaborative and have a commitment to providing the best possible care for our patients.
Responsibilities include:
Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals.
Administer medications and vaccinations to animals.
Perform laboratory tests such as urinalysis, blood counts, and skin scrapings.
Monitor vital signs of animals during surgery and recovery.
Provide nursing care to sick or injured animals.
Assist in the preparation of animals for surgery.
Communicate, through multiple modalities, with clients about all aspects of their pets care.
Maintain accurate records of animal treatments.
